How Much Ohhio Braid Do I Need for My DIY Project?
The wait is finally over. Starting today, Ohhio Braid is available for purchase from our shop! We’re so happy to introduce our award-winning yarn to the public. In anticipation of the question you guys ask most often, we’ve prepared a post detailing how much Ohhio Braid you’re going to need to make any of the items found in our shop, how much you need to cast on, and how many rows to knit. Read on to learn more.
Ohhio Braid Mat
Our mat is a great footrest, a portable seat warmer and a cute accessory for your pet’s corner. You will need 35 meters of Braid to make it. Cast on 8 stitches and knit 13 rows to get a 20” x 30” (50 x 75 cm) mat. Check out the tutorial above!
Ohhio Braid Blanket
Our blankets are so, so cozy and so, so fun to make! The tutorial you see above demonstrates how to make a medium blanket. The technique used to make all the other sizes is exactly the same. You’ll only need to cast on and knit a different amount of stitches.
Small Size (30” x 50” / 75 x 125 cm) — you’ll need 80 meters of Ohhio Braid. Cast on 11 stitches and knit 22 rows.
Medium Size (40” x 60” / 100 x 150 cm) — you’ll need 120 meters of Ohhio Braid. Cast on 15 stitches and knit 25 rows.
Medium Plus Size (50” x 60” / 125 x 150 cm) — you’ll need 160 meters of Ohhio Braid. Cast on 19 stitches and knit 25 rows.
Large Size (50” x 70” / 125 x 175 cm) — you’ll need 180 meters of Ohhio Braid. Cast on 19 stitches and knit 29 rows.
Extra Large Size (60” x 80” / 150 x 200 cm) — you’ll need 240 meters of Ohhio Braid. Cast on 21 stitches and knit 33 rows.

Cat Bed (10” tall, 14” inner diameter, 18” outer diameter / 25 cm tall, 35 cm inner diameter, 46 cm outer diameter) — you’ll need 40 meters of Ohhio Braid.
Dog Bed (8” tall, 20” inner diameter, 24” outer diameter / 20 cm tall, 50 cm inner diameter, 60 cm outer diameter) — you’ll need 80 meters of Ohhio Braid.
